Triund Trek is one of the famous and easy treks situated within the lap of McleodGanj, near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. It is a boon for someone who just starts trekking as it is an easy trail which will not provide many challenges all along the way.
HOW TO REACH TO THE TREK?
The trek is about 6 km from the base camp or Gallu which is like the entry point to the trek, and around 8 km from MacleodGanj.
So if you don’t want to walk all the way from Macleod Ganj to the base camp in order to reach the base camp, ones can easily take a taxis from MacleodGanj which charges around 400 rupees. However, if you want to start your trek from the city, then you can easily walk along Dharamkot which you can relax and retain your strengths in many cafes around those areas.
RULES AND OVERNIGHT STAY
Another thing ones should keep in mind is the rule of the entry to the trek, as it is different for the night stay and one day visit. So someone who has a plan for a one day visit, and comes back later must enter the trek before 11 am, or the officials will send you back. However, for the ones who want to stay overnight must have a guide, and must enter the trek before 3 pm. Also, you can camp on your own by renting the tent from the shops in the hilltops which can easily cost you around 600 to 800 rupees depending upon the crowd.
DURATION AND REFRESHMENT
-As Triund trek is an easy trek with proper trail and landmark, ones can reach easily in 2 to 4 hours, and along the way, there are many small shops which you refill your water bottles or even have a hot Maggi.
So WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE TOP?
At the hilltop of the triund trek, you can easily have a majestic view of the whole valley ranging from MacleodGanj till Dharamshala. If the sky is clear, then you can easily spot the famous cricket stadium in Dharamshala.
Triund hilltop is also a pathway or basecamp if you want to trek further to Snowline, Lahesh cave and then to Indrahar pass.
